This bighorn sheep guzzler is constantly used by the local bighorn sheep herd that occupies the Newberry, Rodman and Ord Mountains. Nearest town is Newberry Springs, 20 miles east of Barstow on I40. The water system will run dry in the next two weeks, with no rain to replenish it expected.\NVolunteers will need to already have thier own water tote in thier vehicles. Appropriate vehicles are 3/4 ton 4 x 4 trucks, no duallys. Requires driving off road on an unmaintained desert trackway for 7 miles. "Water buffalo" trailers ok. \NThe group will fill water tanks in Newberry Springs at 7 AM on Monday September 9. Then the group will caravan to the guzzler.
